Digital electromagnetic storage medium comprised of a rigid disk, having a large storage capacity. For devices that hard disks are housed in, sometimes in series, and in conjunction with a read/write armature use "hard drives." To generally refer to computer data storage devices that use disk storage media, either fixed or removeable, use "disk drives."
