Definición
Distinctive processional statues depicting Jesus on a donkey, mounted on a wheeled platform. Typically life-size or nearly so, they were common in Palm Sunday processions in certain regions of Catholic northern Europe from the 10th century; found also in southern Europe and South and Central America. Smaller versions were made in imitation of the life-size statues.
