Carya tomentosa
Nota de aplicación
Species of hickory tree native to the United States; most abundant of the hickories and very long-lived, sometimes reaching 500 years in age. Used for hard, durable wood and for its bark to produce a color-fast dye, giving a dark yellow (cotton) to golden (wool) color using an alum mordant. With a chrome mordant, it will give a brass color to wool and cotton.
