Masking tape designed specifically for house or wall painting, having a coating to resist penetration of liquid paint and an adhesive that is both firmly adherent to prevent seepage and easily released. It is often blue, purple, or another easily visible color to assist in removal. It may be rated according to the time it may remain without leaving residue on the surface being masked.
