electrospray ionization
Nota de aplicación
Technique developed by John Fenn in the late 1980s, an improved method of ionizing samples for use in mass spectrometry. Electrospray ionization (ESI) discharges a solution of a sample into an electric field that disperses the sample as fine droplets. ESI is especially useful for samples containing macromolecules, prone to fragmenting in other techniques of ionization.
