Deserts having cold winters with snowfall and high overall rainfall throughout the winter and occasionally over the summer. They have short summers averaging 21-26 degrees C with long, cold winters averaging -2 to 4 degrees C. Winters may receive significant snow, with annual precipitation 15-26 cm. Examples are in the Antarctic, Greenland, and the Nearctic.
