Genus of deciduous tree in the family Paulownaceae or Scrophulariaceae, native to east Asia. Bears large heart-shaped, usually hairy leaves. Cultivated for its lightweight and fine-grained timber, and as an ornamental with massed sweetly-scented violet to cream-colored, trumpet-shaped flowers that appear in Spring.
