Nota de aplicación
Intaglio printing technique that uses a piece of oilcloth rather than a printing plate; the cloth is engraved with a design and inserted into a washing machine wringer or other device to print. Its best known use was by Feliks Jabłczyński (1865-1928); he used a knife and needle for scratching, engraving, and uncovering the underlying canvas; thin oil paint was used as the printing medium. The prints appear similar to drypoint and etching.
