In Nahua culture, full suits worn in battle that encased the torso, arms, and legs. These were made of feathers sewn to a backing fabric, and reflected the status of the person wearing them. The term has also been extended to other accompanying insignia, arms carried by the warrior, and the headdress associated with the garment.
