A relief printmaking process derived from woodcut, but using stone blocks as the plates into which a design is carved. This technique may be exclusive to Inuit printmakers living in the Cape Dorset area, an Inuit hamlet located on Dorset Island near Foxe Peninsula at the southern tip of Baffin Island in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, Canada.
