Regional or indigenous Latin American ceramic vessels, usually Incan, having a pointed base, globular or cylindrical walls, and a long, narrow neck; often have handles. They are named after, but distinguished from, Greek vessels "aryballoi," which may have similar shapes. distinctively shaped Inca vessel is a symbol of the Inca Empire. Arybalos are found in every territory that the Inca conquered, with regional variations in decoration.
