Casques intended for the protection of those flying aircraft. These were initially made of leather, were fitted to the head and had earflaps that were connected via a chin strap. Some were lined with fleecy material. More historically recent models are made from a variety of materials including fiberglass and plastic, and are more typically formed into a round dome encasing the entire head of the wearer.
