Kiowa style

Describes a style of painting popularized by a group of Kiowa artists in the early 20th century. Uses flat, two-dimensional figures with colorful outlines and little-to-no background imagery. Artists popularizing the style include Jack Hokeah, Monroe Tsatoke, Spencer Asah, James Auchiah, Stephen Mopope, and Lois Smoky Kaulaity. Considered the predecessor to Bacone style.
