Wild horse distinguished by a stocky build, yellowish or dun (light red) coat, a short erect dark mane with no forelock, dark tail, and usually a dorsal stripe. The low withers blend into a narrow back, and the croup is short and steep. It is the last surviving wild horse (not to be confused with feral horses).
