Nota de aplicación
Species of deer found in western North America, primarily in the Pacific Northwest region. Some classifications regard it as a subspecies of mule deer. However, recent DNA analysis indicates that the mule deer is apparently a rather recent form that arose from hybridization of female white-tailed and male of the ancient black-tailed deer.
