Nota de aplicación
Style of art and approach to pop culture in general that challenges the validity of a high or established art aesthetic. Critics disagree as to its relationship with the fine art world, and if it is to be considered a "legitimate" art movement on its own. The term was coined by artist Robert Williams in 1979 to refer to the populist nature of his own work. The style is characterized by both its influences, such as comic books, tattoos, and hot-rod street culture, and it approach, which is typically bright, garish, and infused with a sense of humor.
