Species of climbing shrub native to Eurasia; twines to 6 m (20 feet) in height. Its trumpet-shaped flowers arranged in whorled clusters are yellowish, purple-tinged blooms that are followed by red berries. Some of the garden varieties are prized for their fragrance.
