Nota de aplicación

Common attire for European gentlemen of the late 17th and early 18th century, derived from French court dress. Formed by a combination of coat, vest and breeches. The silhouette, tailoring, and materials changed slowly over the course of decades. Around 1760 the coat skirt lost its fullness, and tapered to the rear into tails. Sleeves narrowed, and ornamentation became more restrained.
