Coffins of various designs, primarily dating to 18th-19th centuries, catering to the general fear of premature burial. Features may include windows to allow the living to view the corpse or mechanisms to allow a buried person to escape from the coffin or alert others should they recover consciousness, including bells and locks workable from inside the coffin, and ladders to allow the buried to ascend from the grave.
