Style and culture of a Native American tribe from southern Florida. Originally part of the Mvskoke (Creek) nation, the Miccosukee moved from Mvsoke territory in present-day Georgia and Alabama to Florida during the mid 1700s. Distinct from Seminole communities in both language and culture. In 1962, the Miccosukee were federally recognized and land designated for a reservation in southern Florida.
