Extinct order of two or three families, ten or more genera of small to moderately large terrestrial reptiles, ranging in appearance from lizard-like to sprawl-limbed and cow-like. They had dermal sculpturing of large tuberosities and deep pits on skull, well developed limbs, often possessing a robust limb and trunk skeleton.
