Nota de aplicación
A spectroscopic technique in which short pulses of terahertz radiation probe intermolecular interactions, allowing characterization of solid materials. The detection scheme is sensitive to the material's effect on both the amplitude and the phase of the terahertz radiation. In conservation science used as a nondestructive subsurface analysis of paintings which can reveal buried layer information such as underdrawings or highlight interfaces between layers in a stratigraphic buildup.
